Would you like to take ownership of character art in a small game team, combining hands-on 3D work with shaping how characters are created and delivered?
As a Senior 3D Character Artist at Snowprint, you’ll have a broad role where you combine character creation with technical implementation and coordination of external art production. You’ll be the main in-house character artist on the team, working closely together with your colleagues to develop characters and their visual language.
At Snowprint Studios, we believe that kindness, collaboration, curiosity, and self-leadership are what make great games possible. We work in small teams where people are trusted to take ownership, share ideas openly, and contribute beyond their own discipline. Your work will have a direct impact on the project and the way our characters come to life.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll create stylized 3D characters and creatures, taking them from sculpting and modelling through texturing and into Unity. You’ll contribute to character development, customisation, and the visual language of the project, making sure the characters work both visually and within its technical constraints.
Part of your role will be coordinating our external character art production. You’ll plan and track work with our outsourcing partners, communicate requirements, review deliveries, and provide clear, constructive feedback. You’ll make sure external work is moving forward, meets the expected quality, and fits with the direction of the game.
You’ll work closely with the Art Director, Concept Artists, Animators, Tech Artists, and Producer throughout the process. As the main in-house character artist, you’ll help shape how character art is developed and delivered, while also contributing to wider discussions around the project and its visual direction.
Is this you?
You’re an experienced 3D Character Artist who has worked with shipped games in AAA, AA, or high-end mobile mid-core.
You have a strong eye for style and detail, and know where to focus your time to create high-quality assets without compromising performance. You have a solid understanding of character art pipelines, including topology, low-poly modelling, optimisation, and the technical requirements of working in a game engine.
You’re fluent in ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter and are comfortable taking your work from creation through to implementation in-engine (we use Unity).
You have experience working with outsourcing partners and are comfortable taking responsibility for work beyond your own assets. You can give clear and constructive feedback, communicate requirements effectively, and keep different pieces of work moving towards a shared goal.
You enjoy working closely with other disciplines and contributing to the bigger picture rather than focusing only on your own area. You’re comfortable taking ownership, working proactively, sharing your perspective, and finding practical solutions when creative and technical requirements need to be met.
You speak English at a professional level and are a good communicator. You are currently located in Stockholm, Sweden. We are unable to support relocation for this position.
What we’ll be looking for in your portfolio
Stylized 3D characters with a strong eye for shape, proportions, detail, and visual style.
Game-ready characters showing sculpting, modelling, texturing, topology, and optimisation.
Examples of characters implemented in-engine.
Lower-poly character work, ideally in the 10–30k polygon range.
Where you’ll work
Our Stockholm studio is located in Södermalm, with a hybrid working model. We work from the office on Tuesdays and Fridays to support collaboration and social interaction. Other days, you can work from wherever you feel most productive. We provide the setup and tools you need to work comfortably.
